- You can hear both diegetic and non-diegetic sound. The diegetic sound is Ryan walking on the beach and the chief constable talking about the police's challenges during a cross cut scene. and the non- diegetic sound is the intense music in the background.

q.8 the terminology is 'voiceover'. It creates irony: the voiceover reveals the gap between what Chief Sup Vickers sets out as the lofty ideals of policing and the grim reality of what the force face on a daily basis; the editing of sound and vision creates humour.
