 How far does the extract try to create a sense that it is portraying 'real life'?

The extract tries to place the police officers in 'real life' by having them doing ordinary things. This is seen when the Donna, Lino, Jake and Ryan are all sat together is a café eating sandwiches for lunch, and making fun of each other and laughing. The reason this is real life is because it is a very normal thing that many people do each day. Another way of making it feel like 'real life' is during the car chase with Ryan and Jake following a truck with a stolen ATM, a 'birds eye view' camera angle is used. This angle makes us feel like we are watching the chase live, and some of the locations will be recognisable, Therefore making us feel like we are there. During the car chase, Jake (a police officer on his first day) was told to do the commentary of the directions and addresses that they are located/drive past. Jake then gives the wrong address, causing Donna and Lino to lay the stingers to pop car tyres in the wrong road, causing another car to get stung. Also, the sounds of sirens is a very common sound, that you always hear on the road.

1. point of view shot - used to show what a character sees from where they are standing whilst talking to another character. 
2. Close up shot - used to show the audience how a character has reacted to a certain situation; Emotion through facial expressions.
3. High angle shot - The camera angle is facing down on a character, to make them seem small and vulnerable.

It is Neil Young, it celebrates his music and it had a greatest hits album made by MOJO. The singer is made to look important as the image of him is in the middle of the magazine, and also the largest feature in it. There are two other images, A photo of another artist and then the photo of the greatest hits album of Neil Young. 

 

The cover is relatively busy. There are a lot of vibrant colours, and it isn't very modern. There are multi0ple cover lines on the sides of the front cover. Music magazines usually have a number of cover lines, as it brings more readers because there are multiple artists, which means multiple fan bases. 

 

The main colour is blue, which is the background colour. the accent colours merge into a yellow colour.
