LEGO MOVIE INDUSTRY TERMS

• Synergy - 'The interaction or cooperation of two of more organisations.' In the Lego Movie, the synergy is LEGO and Warner Brothers collaborating.

• Tent-pole production - A big-budget movie whose earnings are expected to compensate the studio for its less profitable movies.

• Ensemble cast - The Lego Movie is designed to appeal everybody and many video audiences. This is because it shows known characters from different franchises, Historical figures, book characters and more. This allows more people to enjoy the content that it put into the movie. 

• Conglomerate - A thing consisting of a number of different and distinct parts of items that are grouped together. 

• Vertical Integration - A strategy that allows a company to streamline its operation by taking direct ownership of various stages of its production process.
• Franchise - The original business, it sells the right to use its name and idea.

LEGO MOVIE BBFC AGE RATING

 The Lego Movie received an age rating of U, as it has no sensitive content. it has 'mild action and rude humour' The main age attraction is 5-8. The main message from this movie is that everyone is special if they believe in themselves and their abilities. but it is also enjoyable for adults due to a nostalgic element,  which is not something all children's movies have. The central conflict: Emmet and the Master Builders battle lord Business' and his plan to Kragle the whole universe on Taco Tuesday. The Kragle is Lord Business' main weapon.

LEGO MOVIE ANALYSIS

 Task 1: how does Emmet come across? How effective would this trailer be in promoting the film?

In our lesson today, we as a class watched 'The Lego Movie' trailer. At the beginning of the trailer, Emmet the main character is obviously struggling to do is morning exercise, three jumping jacks. This is a very relatable thing as normally, everyone struggles with doing physical exercise. He is described as an 'ordinary guy'. In the trailer we see him not complaining about anything, and going along with whatever the world around him is doing. On first meeting, he seems a very happy guy.
